AU/PG/CANON/OC: Canon - Freedom Wars
Summary: First, aim to list 5-7 bullet points of the history of your character.
- The Sinner loses their memory and gets slapped with a million-year sentence for 'misplacing the skills we gave you, which were not your property'.
- Undertaking 'voluntary' contribution missions, The Sinner meets a girl named Beatrice from the floating city-states of On High
- Throughout all this, The Sinner is haunted by a phantasmal girl named 'Aries' who has chosen them in order to bring about 'The Great Transformation'.
- Eventually, a man named Abel captures the Casket, an unknown artifact capable of wiping out an entire Panopticon. Battles ensue.
- The Casket turns out to be, in actuality, a doorway to Aries' world, and The Sinner is escorted to Aries' master, Simeon.
- Entering into an alliance with Simeon, The Sinner is tasked with bringing about The Great Transformation and bringing 'true freedom' to humanity by destroying the city-states of On High.
- The game ends here.
In the world of Freedom Wars, it's the year 102014 and humanity ekes out a hardscrabble life on a planet that has been almost entirely used up. Resources are scarce, and in order to manage them, societies known as 'Panopticons' have come into being. Panopticons manage resources through a series of insanely restrictive laws - the most well-known example being the law against 'being born'. At the start of the game, The Sinner is knocked half-dead by a giant robot and loses all their memories, the punishment for which is one million years. As a result of their amnesia, The Sinner has a absolutely no knowledge of any of the many laws in the Panopticon until they break one. Standouts include: lying down to sleep, refusing to lie down to sleep, talking with members of the opposite sex, talking with members of the same sex, running for more than five seconds, running for more than ten seconds, and talking to a Citizen.
One of the very few ways in which the Panopticon isn't restrictive is the Image Overhaul System, whereby any Sinner of any rank may extensively alter their physical appearance - this includes small details like length of the arms and size of the hands, and goes up to things like color of the skin and even gender. This, combined with The Sinner's complete amnesia, has created a personality that views its physical body as just another pair of clothes, freely switching between male and female according to their mood. Fluid and flexible in personality, The Sinner disdains any level of connection beyond the purely personal, rejecting the system of the Panopticon even as they live within it. Once a connection is formed, however, The Sinner will defend it beyond even death, doing their best to protect and nurture the other in the hopes that they too will come to share The Sinner's unique outlook.
Gem Considerations: Natrolite, meaning Evolution, Transformation, and Higher Consciousness. Set in the forehead, it represents the way The Sinner's body is shaped by their intellect, rather than the reverse.
Power considerations: List Three Powers You Would Like Your Character To Have:
- Shapeshifting
- Hammerspace
- Item Creation
All of The Sinner's powers come from technology - without their equipment, The Sinner is simply an athletic, self-trained soldier. Given the context of the world they're from, any powers they gain would likely be put to use in as many different ways as possible - wringing out every last advantage from a given resource is a survival trait, after all.
